Mark Thornton – Chief Executive Officer
Mark has over 32 years experience in the banking and finance industry in New Zealand. He initially joined Bank of New Zealand and gained experience in areas of retail banking then moving to managerial roles in commercial and corporate banking for 18 years up until 1992. He then moved to ASB Bank Limited taking up a management role in ASB’s commercial division up until 2000 when he left to take up full time employment with New Zealand Finance Limited. During his banking career he focused on all facets of lending assessment to a wide range of business from the major corporates to medium to small sized companies. He is a founding director and his current responsibilities include business development activities and lending evaluation and assessment and the credit approval process. Mark was appointed Chief Executive Officer in November 2010, replacing former Managing Director John Callaghan, who stepped down from the role as a result of ill health.

Craig Alexander LLB – Chairman and Non-Executive Director
Craig was appointed as a Director on 29 October 2010. Craig is a Partner in Alexander Dorrington Lawyers and brings with him a wealth of business experience having practiced law for over 25 years and having participated in founding several successful businesses. Craig specialises in the commercial and financial sectors and has a particular interest in product development for lending institutions and business.

John Henderson – Non-executive Director
John has over 27 years experience in the banking and finance industry in New Zealand. He initially joined ANZ Bank (NZ) Limited and gained experience in areas of retail banking, International Services and Trade, and Treasury with numerous roles up until 2000. He then moved to the Bank of New Zealand in the Financial Planning and Private Banking Areas until 2002. John has his own broking, business and start up consulting business for 6 years, and has business interests in property, software, online e-commerce, and corporate and SME training.
